SUMMARY:Rock Rehab Community: Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in Climbers
DESCRIPTION:Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) is a challenging condition for climbers\, often presenting with arm pain\, numbness\, or weakness that can be mistaken for shoulder or cervical issues. This session will introduce the unique ways TOS can appear in climbing athletes\, including biomechanical and positional contributors. Through case discussions and practical applications\, participants will learn key assessment strategies\, differential diagnosis considerations\, and effective management approaches to keep climbers performing at their best. \nPresenter\nThomas Henry (TH) David is a doctor of physical therapy and avid rock climber specializing in the care of climbers across all levels. A graduate of St. Olaf College (BA\, Studio Art\, 2014) and the University of Colorado Anschutz (DPT\, 2020)\, he has worked extensively with Colorado climbing communities through The Spot and Denver Bouldering Club\, offering workshops\, consultations\, and one-on-one rehab. Now based in Minneapolis\, he brings a collaborative\, athlete-centered approach that emphasizes respect\, empowerment\, and strength. Outside the clinic and the crag\, he enjoys disc golf\, music\, family time\, and discovering new hobbies. \nLocation\nZoom \nTarget Audience\nLicensed physical therapists\, physical therapy assistants and certified athletic trainers \n  \nRegister here!
