Renata has a passion for working with women and men during their cancer recovery. She has worked almost exclusively in oncology since 2003 and has successfully developed 3 Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Programs in 2 states.
Her passion is to address each person as an individual and as a whole to help each person with their unique shoulder / chest wall and lymphedema issues. She works closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, oncologists, orthopaedic doctors, and other medical staff to ensure she is giving the best care possible. Her goal is to maximize each patient’s level of pain-free function and to minimize their risk of (or effect of) lymphedema to allow them to return to the activities they love.
Renata earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University, a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology / Exercise Physiology from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Minnesota studying the effects of surgery and radiation therapy on shoulder function in breast cancer survivors. She is Board Certified in Orthopaedics, is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, and is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association.
