We are passionate educators who serve as instructors in the clinic and for DPT curricula across the country. We host physical therapy students for clinical internships and postdoctoral students for residency programs.
We are self-proclaimed nerds, engaged in lifelong learning. We are evidence-informed and open-minded to the latest research that will guide our evolving practice. We are dedicated to working collaboratively and sharing our skills and clinical expertise during team labs and mentorship sessions.
We are committed to growing the next generation of residency trained physical therapists who will serve as leaders in our field. We host an orthopedic and sports residency program through Evidence in Motion as well as continuing education courses onsite throughout the year.
A clinical residency is a planned program of post-professional clinical and didactic education for physical therapists. Its purpose is to significantly advance the resident’s preparation as a provider of patient care services in a defined area of clinical practice. A residency combines the opportunity for ongoing supervision and mentoring with a theoretical basis of advanced practice and scientific inquiry.
Our residency program will also help prepare the resident to sit for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS) certification exam.

At Motion, clinical residencies align with our mission and core values as a company: striving for superior patient outcomes, driven by evidence, education, and education. Being a physical therapist owned practice, we are able to base our decisions and growth strategies with the above values. This ensures that therapists have the support to be successful in their practice, with encouraged continued education, research, and teaching involvement, we hope to continue to succeed in valuing the providers who subsequently make the best decisions for the patients we treat.
Our residency programs partner with Evidence in Motion (EIM). EIM’s hybrid learning model of both online and hands on learning “allows students to cover foundational knowledge and concepts online before onsite weekend intensives where (residents) learn, practice, and perfect their hands-on skills.”
The EIM program provides residents the opportunity to capture all the benefits of a residency, including 1:1 mentoring with experienced clinical specialists, as well as developing the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful clinician in private practice.
Applications for both the Sports and Orthopaedic Residencies are accepted on a rolling basis. A completed application should include the following:
