Mission Statement

We believe in setting our community in motion. Motion was formed to offer individuals a patient-first, outcome-focused physical therapy option.

We do: We are highly capable, carry ourselves with integrity, and are committed to clinical excellence.

We grow: We are intentionally forward thinking, creative, innovative, and nimble.

We teach & learn: We are constantly curious and cultivate an environment of learning.

We are inclusive: We are rooted in our community to be a clinic for all, to include those who are marginalized and unseen in healthcare.

Education is key

We Teach

We are passionate educators who serve as instructors in the clinic and for DPT curricula across the country. We host physical therapy students for clinical internships and postdoctoral students for residency programs.

We Learn

We are self-proclaimed nerds, engaged in lifelong learning. We are evidence-informed and open-minded to the latest research that will guide our evolving practice. We are dedicated to working collaboratively and sharing our skills and clinical expertise during team labs and mentorship sessions.

Residency

We are committed to growing the next generation of residency trained physical therapists who will serve as leaders in our field. We host an orthopedic and sports residency program as well as continuing education courses onsite throughout the year.

Why a Residency?

A clinical residency is a planned program of post-professional clinical and didactic education for physical therapists. Its purpose is to significantly advance the resident’s preparation as a provider of patient care services in a defined area of clinical practice. A residency combines the opportunity for ongoing supervision and mentoring with a theoretical basis of advanced practice and scientific inquiry.

Our residency program will also help prepare the resident to sit for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS) certification exam.

We are not a credentialed residency, but partnered with an accredited partner, what that means is same high standards but less paperwork to create more time focused on you and your learning. More contoured learning plans, and the same high quality programming.

Why choose a residency at Motion Physical Therapy?

At Motion, clinical residencies align with our mission and core values as a company: striving for superior patient outcomes, driven by evidence, education, and education. Being a physical therapist owned practice, we are able to base our decisions and growth strategies with the above values. This ensures that therapists have the support to be successful in their practice, with encouraged continued education, research, and teaching involvement, we hope to continue to succeed in valuing the providers who subsequently make the best decisions for the patients we treat.

Our residency programs partner with Bellin College to obtain the highest quality core coursework to prepare for the OCS or SCS. This delivers a hybrid learning model of both online and hands on learning. Students engage with core concepts and foundational material through online modules, then apply and advance their practical skills during immersive, in-person weekend sessions.

This program provides residents the opportunity to capture all the benefits of a residency, more than 130 hours of CEU, and includes at least 130 hours of 1:1 mentoring with experienced clinical specialists, as well as developing the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful clinician in private practice.
