Peter Ames

PT, PhD, SCS

Peter graduated from Touro College, NY in 1995 and is a board-certified specialist in sports physical therapy.  After working in nine different states and the United Kingdom, he moved to Minnesota in 2006 and was the Director for the M Health Fairview Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program and the University of Minnesota Hockey Fellowship until joining Motion in 2021.  Peter completed his PhD in Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2011.  He currently practices at the Motion West clinic and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota. He’s served on the planning committee for numerous sports medicine conferences since 2009, has been an invited speaker both locally and nationally and has been published in JOSPT and IJSPT.  Peter specializes in working with athletes of all ages and abilities; from the adolescent to the masters athlete, and from the weekend warrior to the professional.  Peter’s interests are primarily in the shoulder/elbow, and hip, knee, and ankle.
